    Tires for snow/ice?

I just put on a set of the 33x12.50 TrXus MT's on my CJ7 only 4 days ago. I bought them based on all the praise they've been given but I've only had them on dry land so far. They're actually very quite on the road. Can't wait to get them off-road.

    hurculiner project

I had to rent a compressor - only $25 a day from a local tool/equipment rental company. For a sprayer, look for a cheap undercoating gun. I looked for weeks and couldn't find one in my area...as a result I had to pay about $40 for a Duplicolor bedliner spray gun from O'Reilly. All in all, the...

    hurculiner project

I just Herculined my CJ last month. I'm VERY happy with the results, especially since I sprayed it on rather than rolling it on. Just fill any holes with a little balled-up masking/painters tape and you'll be fine. If you do this, remember that prep work is the key. The more complete your...

    Any advice before I Herculine?

Just wanted to say THANKS for all the advice. It'll probably take me a couple of weeks to prep and line everything since I have very little time (and daylight on weekday evenings). AND...I'm relatively confident that my hootus will survive the project without incident. -Jay

    Any advice before I Herculine?

YJ Jeep parts for sale!!!!!!!! My tub has some rust in the floorboards, around the base of the roll-bar, and on the walls near the tailgate. It's not extremely bad rust but I figured Herculiner would probably slow down the rust a little more than carpet, which can trap moisture on the...

    Any advice before I Herculine?

I bought my Herculiner kit today. For those of you who've done this, is there anything I should know that can't be found in the directions? Any other tips/tricks are very much appreciated. Thanks, Jay

Pics of Dripping Springs New Mexico (large pics)

RE: Re: RE: Pics of Dripping Springs New Mexico (large pics) Hey, Mingez. Great pics! If I'm not mistaken, aren't you just to the east of Las Cruces there? That appears to be the Organ Mountains. -Jay

    CJ transfer case grinding (!)

i got towed, now why wasn't it moving itself? Unless impossible, I try to shift during a slow roll. Maybe I noticed it so much the last time because I was at a complete stop. Thanks for the help, guys. -Jay

    Rough Starts

I've got the same problem with my '83 CJ7, also a 258/automatic. It takes a good 5 minutes or so for it to quit stalling when at idle and my oil pressure rarely climbs above 20 (assuming the gauge works fine). I'm anxious to learn a little more about this myself. -Jay

    CJ transfer case grinding (!)

So my transfer case makes a god-awful grinding noise when shifting past N back to 2H? I took the jeep out this weekend and I have no trouble moving from 2H to 4H and back but when I have to shift through Neutral, I get a nasty grind when trying to move back into gear. It's a Dana 300 and an...

CJ dash wiring help (Aw, crap.)

Progress update: All the damaged wiring was located and taped. A new fusable link was installed near the starter solenoid and new plastic sheathing was wrapped around the wiring bundle in the engine compartment as well as around some of the damaged wires under the dash. All...

    Thinking of Buying another 4x4

The Tornado Intercept Vehicle drove right past my house here in Norman, OK last summer. He stopped at a house around the corner - I chased him down to get a good look. Quite a unique vehicle. Looked like maybe an older Ford F-150 underneath. -Jay

CJ dash wiring help (Aw, crap.)

33x10.5r16 on a rubicon After assessing the damage, I don't think I'll have to replace the wiring harness. A few of the wires have melted insulation but my buddy and I have isolated the damaged wires and we'll probably just give them a solid wrap in electrical tape and then regroup them with...

CJ dash wiring help (Aw, crap.)

Thanks for taking a look for me. I connected it with the hot wire on the driver's side and got no smoking wires when I turned the ignition on. After dealing with all the smoking wires tonight I decided to just give up for today. I'll do the necessary repairs tomorrow and try to get the dash...

CJ dash wiring help (Aw, crap.)

I've been replacing my dash/guages/radio/knobs/lights/etc. on the CJ7 and ran into a snag today. I'm fairly certain I've mixed up the two wires on the back of the voltmeter and now I've fried many of the under-dash wires as well as cooked a fusable link just off the battery. My dilemma is...
