    CJ7 ignition cylinder

I had to use a punch and hammer and break the old one out. It was wedged in wrong and corroded in place. All's good now, just need to put the column back together. Fun!!

    CJ7 ignition cylinder

Ok, so I've determined I need to replace the ignition cylinder in the CJ7. This is as far as I've gotten, and not the stupid cylinder won't come out. Removed all the screws under the blinker switch thing, and it still won't come out. Am I missing something????

    CJ7 4x4 questions

I got it all figured out now, thanks everyone. Now it just needs to rain some more in Yuma, Arizona so I can mud to my hearts content!

    CJ7 4x4 questions

I agree and I appreciate your concern, but I only go on a friends land, and he is more than capable of helping me out in the worst case scenario. I would love to join a club, but there aren't any around me that are active.

    CJ7 4x4 questions

Nothing really went wrong, I just didn't try because I didn't know. Does it matter if my jeep is an automatic? Should I stop and put it in neutral or park?

    CJ7 4x4 questions

Ok, so I've had my cj for about 3-4 months now, and I've taken it out in the Arizona desert plenty with no issues. That is, until monsoon season and we got enough rain for me to almost get stuck in some mud because I couldn't figure out the 4x4. I didn't wanna mess anything up so I just left it...

    CJ7 Brake light issues

Will do, my tub is all fiberglass so everything is grounded to the frame. I'll check it out though and post my findings.

    CJ7 Starter wont turn engine

Thanks for everyone's help, I really do appreciate it. For now, I'm just keeping a socket in the jeep for the times the starter can't grab and turn the engine. Sucks, but gotta do something when I need to drive the jeep. Will most likely post when I'm going to do this repair! Until then, my friends.

    CJ7 Brake light issues

Bulb is good, no corrosion, cleaned it anyway. Ground is fine, might replace it anyway to see if it helps.

    CJ7 Starter wont turn engine

These are the missing teeth pics I took. Starter tested out fine, seems like this is my problem.

    CJ7 Starter wont turn engine

I'm pretty sure I have a similar problem. Got home last night and took the starter off, looked at some of the teeth of the flywheel and there is a spot like you said where the teeth are nonexistent. I took a couple of pictures, it's not pretty. How bad is it to replace this guy? Or am I better...

    CJ7 Starter wont turn engine

I did all that, the bendix isn't stuck, and all the wires are fine. I think the gear the starter grabs to turn the engine is worn or something.

    CJ7 Starter wont turn engine

Well, it's Sunday afternoon and I wanted a day to go shooting and off roading in the ol cj. This is all fine and dandy until I turn off the engine, then try to turn it back on. I recently replaced my stater and the solenoid, but the starter just spins. It's like the gears arent making contact...

    CJ7 Brake light issues

We'll it's the weekend again and a day of tinkering turns into finding issues with something else. My drivers side brake light doesn't work. Bulbs are fine, and with the headlights on it works fine. The blinker works fine, only problem is when I hit the brakes nothing happens on the drivers...
