Screwed up changing out spark plugs - multiple cylinder misfires

In the last two weeks I've done two things: 1. Added a can of seafoam to my gas tank, and ran an entire tank of gas through. 2. Used Seafoam spray into the air intake. The traditional Seafoam can no longer recommends that you add liquid seafoam to your intake - it says that if you want to add...

Opinions on Skyjacker dual rate springs?

I've heard that as well, and did some investigating on their website. I was surprised to learn that ARB owns OME. It looks like OME makes 2" lift coils, with the primary difference being the weight rating for the rear springs - 140 , 160, 216, or 250 lbs. I'll have to think some more on this...

Opinions on Skyjacker dual rate springs?

Skyjacker is free shipping with 15% off right now I was looking at Savvy as well - I have their control arms and love them. They are quite a bit more than the Skyjacker.

Opinions on Skyjacker dual rate springs?

My buddies say that my TJ rides rough, and while I don't disagree, it seems similar to all the other Jeeps I've owned (CJs and YJs). I currently run Rough Country 2.5" springs that I bought somewhere around 2012. I'm thinking about getting some Skyjacker 2.5" dual rate springs. In theory...

Funniest video I've seen an a while

I love power tools, and have been team DeWalt for a while now, even though I sometimes pickup an off brand every now and then. This video is spot on, and really captures the brands. **there are some curse words, so be warned.

    Recommendations for exterior dash cams

I've got a Garmin mini interior dashcam, and I love it, but I'd also like to have an exterior go pro style just for wheeling. I find that the videos of me doing cool stuff also include audio of me squealing like a little girl. The audio makes it less impressive. I'd like something hood or...

    Recommendations for exterior dash cams

I'd like to buy a camera to mount on the outside of my windshield while offroading. Anyone know of one that would work well, but not break the bank? It would need to be waterproof, and have a decent battery.

Screwed up changing out spark plugs - multiple cylinder misfires

I'm with you that plugs 3-1 have some deposits. I haven't cleaned carbon from the cylinders or valves that I can remember. I've got a can of sea foam that I can add to the gas, and I'm happy to run injector cleaner (have any recommendations?). I think the boots are good now. Here's what they...

Screwed up changing out spark plugs - multiple cylinder misfires

I believe that it's fixed now. Here's how it went down: I cleaned the coil rail boots with electronic parts cleaner, using a soaked Q-tip to get the insides (thanks for the good tip). The Q-tip needed to be changed a couple of times, as it was pretty greasy. Started back up, and in about 60...

Screwed up changing out spark plugs - multiple cylinder misfires

What would you clean the coil rail with. As you mentioned cylinder 4 was coated in oil. I've got plenty of brake cleaner but I'm wondering if this isn't a job for electrical connection cleaner. I may throw a new spark plug on cylinder 4 and clean the coil rail and give it another try. Sent...

Screwed up changing out spark plugs - multiple cylinder misfires

I can't remember changing the spark plugs in my Jeep, so I decided to knock it out today. The old plugs that came out looked terrible. They are NGK plugs, and I wonder if they are the factory plugs (2005 4.0 with 172k Miles on the odometer). New plugs: AutoLite Double Platinum Spark Plug...

    Tj steering issues, maybe

Do you have someone to turn the wheel back and forth while you lay in front of the jeep and watch? If so, that's the way to go. Look for where the slop is. Maybe the power steering pump, or perhaps the trackbar bolt, or others. If you don't have someone to turn the wheel for you, get a...

I go to the grocery store for milk, and come home with tools

The stepped drill bit and the big bag of sandpaper / sanding blocks were $5 each. The probe was $15. Lidel is alot like Aldi - a large grocery chain from Europe. Lidel has it's own brand (Parkside) of tools, including battery powers mowers and stuff.

I go to the grocery store for milk, and come home with tools

I'm not sure if you guys have Lidel where you live, but I generally like them. I will say they offer some very budget tools along the lines of harbor freight. My wife gives me a hard time because every time I go grocery shopping I come home with more tools. Does this happen to anybody else...

Do all powder coat finishes look terrible after a couple of years?

I can't say that I'm a big fan of bedliner on exterior applications (like rock sliders). I've used it on the floorboards of my old CJ and liked it there. The powder coat did last longer than what I think paint would. I think my main issue is that it seems to be harder to recoat, or touch up...

Do all powder coat finishes look terrible after a couple of years?

I always lean to a raw / unfinished item over a powder coated one. My bumper, and skids all came as raw metal that I painted rattle can black. The paint doesn't last forever, but it's super easy to scuff them and respray a section. Having said that, my rock sliders came powder coated black...
