of header, cold air, computers, and exhasts

The 4-bangers simply do not have a lot of unleashed potential, i.e. you can spend a ton of money to pick up maybe 10 hp at most. I added an Airaid intake, considering a Banks header and exhaust, but that'll be about it. It does hold speed a little better on the highway with the intake. Some...

    Whine sound when clutch in

Agree, it's probably the throwout bearing but on a 2006 it shouldn't be worn out yet. Possibly there is some dirt in it causing the noise and it will work its way out. It happened on my son's Mustang that way.

    Freeze Plug Leaks??

Freeze plugs can corrode when vehicles get old. Vehicles like 35 year old Jeeps.

I got NAPA house brand, they are really Monroe Sensa Tracs painted blue and cost half as much. Show your AAA card and get another 7% off. I did the same with the steering stabilizer too.

    Oil Change

It is a little late to worry about synthetic. It won't hurt but it won't help. I'd suggest either a 10w-30 high mileage oil like Max Life or Shell Rotella 10w-30. Check out the other thread titled "Oil".

    Oil

Yes. That said, it was 5w-30 since it was in over the winter and my daughter mostly drives it just to school and back. It took 7 months to put on 3000 miles. A 10w-30 would probably burn less. I have Rotella T5 10w-30 in it now and we'll see how it looks after 3000 miles. I'm betting the...

    Oil

For the last oil change on the Jeep I went with Shell Rotella 10w-30 synthetic blend and a Wix filter. It is a diesel-rated oil but is also SM-rated for gas engines. Being diesel-rated it should have more ZDDP than gas-only oils and better for flat-tappet Jeep engines. This choice was...

    Dont buy Procomp tires!

You need the right tire for what you're doing too. From what I've read on the boards and in magazines over the years, X-Terrains are good in rocks and that's about it. One of the 4wd magazines did a mud tire test a couple years ago and X-Terrains came in dead last by a long shot. Most of the...

How can i get better gas mileage

Couple years ago when I opened a second office of my company 30 miles away, I bought a (very) used Neon for $1300 to save on gas since I was dropping $150 a week on gas for my truck. Within 6 months I spent more than I paid for the car on repairs.

What is the best differential fluid to use in my TJ

I use Mobil 1 75w-90 or 75w-140, depending on what the vehicle calls for. That's fine if you don't go off-road and underwater a lot. If you do, take xjmarc's recommendation and just use the cheap stuff since you'll be changing it a lot. No point then in using the pricey stuff.

How can i get better gas mileage

Generally speaking, the best bang for the buck is a cat-back exhaust. Jim Allen says so and his word is good enough for me. I put a Gibson cat-back on my Sport Trac and picked up 3 mpg on the highway IF I keep it at 70 mph or less, city mpg is no different. A header on a Jeep might pick up a...
