    Dana 30 actuator options

The Jeep will drive fine on road with the actuator locked, if your front driveshaft is well balanced. Here's what I do on the cheap. Remove the actuator from the front axle, slide the shift collar to engage both shafts, reinstall the actuator upside down. The fork will now hold it in the...

    Track bar mount 87 yj

I ran without front and rear trackbars on my spring-over YJ. It did pretty well, but it's not for everyone. Will handle better with stiffer springs. Keep in mind that, with the shackles in front of the front axle, the steering pushes the axle sideways a small amount before actually turning...

Is my 96 Sport legal to drive on the road with all 4 doors off ?

Ask the experts on equipment laws, usually the Highway Patrol or State Police.

    No doors legal?

I can't imagine any state requiring doors on a Jeep, but many do require a specific number of rear-facing mirrors with an unobstructed view. In this state you're required to have one rear facing mirror, and the windshield rear-view mirror suffices.

    Full time 4 wheel drive

Likely a simple adjustment of the shift linkage. Look at the linkage on the transfer case and you'll see a rod passing through the shift arm with a bolt holding the rod in place.

    Driveshafts and pinion angles

For the rear, the spring pads need cut from the axle and rotated in order for the springs to rest straight. This generally isn't needed with most common lift heights. Make sure you're lengthening the uppers to get the proper pinion angle so you keep the proper wheelbase, keeping the wheel...

Anyone here going to watch the eclipse?

We were fortunate to be in the path of totality here in Southern Illinois. Will be in totality again in 7 years. The influx of people was crazy.

    Clutch or transmission symptoms?

There is no adjustment to the clutch. Check the fluid in the clutch slave. Drain and inspect the gear oil in the transmission, look for brass glitter.

    Engine swap

It should work. Pretty sure the pilot bushing for the trans is different between the two, so you might have to hunt down the right bushing. Use only the '93 long block and bolt on the '99 engine accessories.

    Can I replace a 4 cylinder engine with a 6 cylinder

Hal, this thread is 8yrs old, sometimes it's better to start a new one.

    YJ vs TJ

TJ runs a higher risk of death wobble. YJ is cheaper and easier to modify. A lot has to do with your intended use.
