I haven't done it yet but I've looked it up and do know that the steering column and dash have to come out, which means dealing with the airbags. For now I just dumped in a can of Bar's Leak and the coolant smell is not as bad.
The Jeep got a Bestop softtop headliner for Christmas. Got it installed last night, mostly by my daughter and her boyfriend with a little help from the one arm that I can move (I had rotator cuff surgery about a month ago). Not very cold today so I can't report on the insulation qualities yet...
Some tires handle water better than others. As mentioned, bigger tires on a lighter vehicle will hydroplane easier. I had a set of Bridgestone Dueler REVO's on a previous truck, awesome in rain and snow, one look at the tread will tell you why.
Usually it means a plugged heater core, don't flush it with the water on full force though and do it in both directions, or the thermostat could be stuck open.
If you plan to off-road, TJ's have a lot better suspension flex than a CJ.
Plus they ride and handle a lot better on-road. Otherwise, jps4jeep nailed it.
I mean, there is a company that MAKES custom CJ frames that use TJ axles and suspension.
American Racing 767 black spokes are about as cheap an aftermarket wheel as you will find, 15x7 or 15x8 with 3.75" backspace will help fit larger tires without rubbing much or at all. I had a set on a van I used to own.
