Good advice! If your taking it apart anyway. I recently bought an 87 YJ and while I had to fix a badly leaking pan gasket I did the same.also checked bearings and replaced the oil pump and timing chain At 100,000 miles it looked great but I gave myself some peace of mind.

Does anyone know where tou can get "new" aftermarket full steel dors or skins for an 87 YJ? I found some rust in a door and would like to skin it or replace it. Seems everyone wants $200-$400 for thier used ones. Maybe that answers my question?:rolleyes:

Does that thing have a carbon canister? I think they are located on the drivers side just below the Brake booster and Master Cylinder. If the hoses are bad you could be getting fumes from that.
