I had the same similar problem a while back, It would run fine for a while then just shutdown even the gauges. All it would it do is turn over. There was a fuse under the dash called PDC Coils and was lose, put it back in good, and the problem went away. Hope this helps

The right way is hooking straight to the battery, That way your amp will get the right power. The power going to the infinity amp is only enough power for that amp, nothing else.

Will a 97 alt. work with a 95 YJ? i just replaced mine a week ago and learnt the regulator was in the computer. I'm thinking the Yj has external regulator. Which might be a problem.

No there no gauges showing when the key is turned to the on postion and shows "- - - - - -" across the odemeter, thee battery is good. Checked the connection to the dash and its good, only when I disconnect the battery for a few secs then reconnet. Then it acts fine
