    Harmonic balancer pulley?

$50 is good for a new balancer from a retailer. An auto parts store would probably charge around $75-$100.

    MC2100 questions

RE: Keep The Smog Stuff Or Not Please refrain from swearing...N*pa and A*tozone are your first problem  There are so many reasons not to shop at places like that i don't know where to begin. Try to find an independant auto supply store in your area; they are almost always your best bet...

Keep The Smog Stuff Or Not

If you can legally ditch all the smog stuff, then by all means do so. There are several reasons why to ditch the smog junk, such as most performance products are not smog legal, smog stuff hurts performance even with stock carb and everything, carbureted smog systems are headaches, and for those...

    CJ7 trac bar fab

RE: Differential Whining? Someone said that I will need a trac bar in my CJ b/c of the dana 44's, 35's and 4.5" sua. Any ideas on fabbing something up that won't limit articulation, and are there any precautions I'll need to consider?

    What lift should I do?

Power on the 2.5? For that amount of lift, I would suggest doing a spring over lift with Rubicon Express 1.5" SOA springs. It's the best leaf spring lift you can do without going elliptical. Just be sure to install at least one good traction bar in the rear (Sam's heavy duty off-road traction...

    alloy axle shafts

RE: Well, wish me luck! And alloy dana 60 axles at that! Wow, I better fab up some sturdy trusses to match the strength of those axle shafts.

    new front axle

RE: T5 Transmission Question Yeah, u-joints tend to take out the axle shafts with them. If they want to replace the entire front end, maybe the knuckle or housing was damaged?

    T5 Transmission Question

Another humor post The dana 300 input shaft is what seals up the back of the transmission, or sort of anyway...with no t-case, there is nothing holding it in. I just hope you didn't run it too long with the t-case out.

    alloy axle shafts

I was thinking that if I get the mosers, I might as well get 33 or 35 spline shafts as the spline count doesn't affect the price, or just get the biggest ones I can fit in the housing...which would mean I couldn't use the stock ones as spares. If it is better to stick with the stock 30 spline...

    Dana 60 axle code identification

RE: Re: alloy axle shafts I'm trying to figure out the specs on the Ford rear end I picked up a while back. The code on the that little plate thing on the diff cover reads: 4 10 D6TA GHB 603717 10 L S Any idea on what this translates into, or know of a website that will help me decode it?

    alloy axle shafts

new front axle Does anyone know where to get alloy shafts for a good price? I checked moser and they want $315 for a pair, plus more $$ for studs and bearings.

    alloy axle shafts

RE: Re: Thanks for all the responses. After talking to the guys at 4wheel parts today, I decided to go with ARB's. Since I will be replacing the carrier and rebuilding the axle, I am wondering if it would be worth it to buy some 33 or 35 spline alloy shafts for my dana 44's to help stand up to...

Hemi Jeep or Restore My 87 Wrangler?

Paragon Monthly Ride (Oct 1,2) I don't mean to bash, and I respect that you would like to take care of your investment, but those lockers are there for a reason...plus you're dishing out an extra $10,000 for the Jeep to have these offroad features. All I can say is enjoy it; get your money's...

    CV driveshafts

I'll be needing to know what pinion angles to set when I install my dana 44's in my CJ; I know that I'll need a CV for the rear to accomodate my 4.5" lift, which means pointing the pinion strait at the T-case. What about the front, though? Do they often require CV's like the rear does (I'm...

    35's with a 2.5L?

RE: Hemi Jeep or Restore My 87 Wrangler? Directional tires tend to do better in the mud, but offer less lateral traction than something like the MT/R or a mud terrain. I agree with Twisted on the gears; 4.56 is really more for when power is not as much of an issue as highway rpm and crawl...

Who says you can't pimp a 'wheeler?

Wow, I had never heard of rock lights before! I had been thinking how I need a way to see the trail under my Jeep better at night, and that led to underbody glow...well, I think that I'll be picking up some 50w auxiliary lights at Walmart to put under my rig. And yes, 35 spline alloy dana 60...

Who says you can't pimp a 'wheeler?

35's with a 2.5L? Blue headlights are illegal here too, but I figure if a cop wants to pull me over that badly he will always think of something (no mud flaps, tires stick out too far, modified exhaust, no front license plate, etc.). It's happened to me before for BS things like that; police...

Hemi Jeep or Restore My 87 Wrangler?

RE: serios ignition problem need help fast!!! It's all a matter of time...do you mind the YJ being out of comission for a year? If not, I would say build it up to the way you want it (there are ways to get 355 horses of a YJ). With the money you save you could buy a low mileage WRX for the...
