I have a Detroit Tru Track up front and love it. Its a limited-slip set up it was fairly cheap(cant remember how much). Works well off road and has good street manners.
Dont have any thing in the rear yet planning on an OX
Get rid of that carter carb and get a motorcraft or weber. I did and I have no problems now and more power. I got the weber It illiminated the computer and smog crap that is robbing you of power.
I have 4.10. It turns the 35s fine but at highway speeds my rpms are too high to get good fuel economy. 2500 to 3000 rpm I think that kinda high for a 258 motor for long drives 2hrs plus.
Hey thanks, Does that t-18 mount right up like the t-5 and does it have over drive? I understand the T5 takes no adapters and requires no change in drive shafts.
I know I sound crazy for the swap but my auto is such a wussy transmission and it cant turn my 35s fast enough for the highway not to mention bad gas milage. Trading in a great idea.
Hey every body I have a cj7 with a i6 258 and a Dana 300 transfer case and Im looking to from an auto transmission to manual.
I would like a direct bolt up. I don't want to use adapters if possible

What model transmission?
what other parts will I...

I need some advice. My 86cj 7 258 i6 with a 3 speed auto transmission sticks in "park" when parked on an incline. It also sticks in "drive" when climbing(dangerous!) . As far as I can tell the linkage is fine, I think its internal.
Heres the question. Whats wrong? How can I fix it? should I just...
Jeep is modified but still retains factory look. 4inch lift, 35inch tires, rock crawler bumper, Detroit Tru-Track, Weber carb,Borla header and catback,Besttop denem top,new paint and aluminum valve cover
try pb blaster let soak for a few days. it worked for some of my body mounts
I had to use a chizel for the others.also you could use a high lift or floor jack to lift and support the body for the mount removal.
Hey every body I could use some advice. I think Im going to put in a new trans in my 1986 Jeep cj7 i6. Currantly I have a 3 speed auto, I m thinking going with a manual not sure what to get. overdrive would be nice really dont care to spend a mint or do a bunch of mods.hopefully i could get some...
