84 CJ7 inline 6 258. If I replace the original carb with a carb WITHOUT an electronic feedback, do I need to do the Nutter bypass?
Also, will I need the idle solenoid any longer?
It's over 25 years old, I don't have to do any emissions check.
Would a new carb need me to hook up throttle solenoid that is currently on the Carter carb?
84 CJ7. Original Carter on engine, with electronic feedback valve. If I replace carb, do I have to get one with the valve? If I do a nutter bypass, is it even used anymore?
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about either? Need to replace mine on 84 CJ7. I know there are better ones, but I'm on a tight budget since I just bought a house.
Found out it's a throttle solenoid, sometimes called a idle stop solenoid. I don't know if it my problem or not. I noticed my carb leaks gas now. Maybe I should just replace the whole carb when I can.
I think I'll try a new fuel pump first just to make sure. Guess I'll get cash back at grocery store to hide more part purchases - that way everyone is happy.
