I stopped for lunch yesterday and my 89' 4.2l yj (nuttered) dieseled for like ten seconds. I didn't think much of it since I haven't driven her in awhile. I came back out and cranked her over and she had a hard time firing...almost like she was flooding. I let her sit for a few minutes and tried again and I got nothing. I took out my trusty "JEEP FIRST AID KIT" and started checking to see that there was no obvious wires broken or off terminals. Visually everything was okay. I then pulled the two relays next to the battery to see if they looked burned, they seemed ok so I wiped them off jiggled the wires and put the relays back in. I said a quick prayer got back in and she started up. I got home and shut her off (dieseled again) and started her back up. I did this a couple of times and each time she did start.....this morning she would not. I went through the same process and still nothing. I have power but she wont crank.:x

There should be a wire from your coil to your starter, check that for breaks, cracks or loose terminals.
