A new Jeep followed me home too

Picked up this 2017 Jeep Wrangler Willys edition for my son who just turned 16. It runs great and is in fantastic condition. Even came with a hardtop and a soft top that I don't think has ever been installed. 152,000 miles, so it's seen some interstate, but it drives beautifully.

I wasn't familiar with the Willy's edition, but from what I understand it has manual Windows manual door locks but a limited slip rear end.

Now we're going to go through and change the oil, diff fluid, trans fluid, etc.

Awesome. Good luck with the new addition.

Yeah, we're pretty excited. He's only got his learners permit now, but we're getting there. We were specifically looking for a non-lifted Jeep so that he could get some practice.

We did a bit of maintenance today. Started by wanting to change the cabin air filter. However, we found there wasn't one installed. From what YouTube tells me the factory never installed cabin air filters in these guys. Anyway, we slid a new one in there and it was pretty easy.

We also changed out the engine air filter and it was filthy. Full of bugs and leaves

There's some oil on the bottom of the engine and the transmission. I cleaned it all up and will try to find where the leak is coming from. The Jeep's been parked in my driveway for a week and I haven't seen any spots so it's probably a pretty small leak.

I started the Jeep, shifted from reverse to drive to neutral and let it idle for 5 minutes. The engine was up to temperature and it was 94° outside, but I'm not sure that the transmission was up to temp or not. I think it's reading low on the dipstick, so I'll add a transmission drain and fill to the next maintenance list.

As to the 1-in lift, I'm not sure it's running 255/75 r17 tires if that makes a difference. I don't see any pucks or spacers so it would have to be longer springs.

I didn't realize how bad those dipstick photos were - sorry. The level was halfway between cold full and warm low. I'll drive it around a bit and try reading it again.
