yes, more fuel and more power for those 3 items, does anybody have any idea of some places that have these???[addsig]

ok, lets review... MAP sensor tells the computer the PSI (density) of air going into the throttle body. i don't see how "adjusting" a MAP sensor will do any good...

as for a fuel pressure regulator and injectors, check out JCWhitney or SummitRacing... but i'm not sure i'd consider either of these things worthwhile until you have a header, bigger exhaust, oversized TB, port & polish, cam, etc... the biggest gains from things like fuel pressure regulators and such won't be noticed as well until the other bolt-on mod's...

thanks jsharifi, good one. yeah I get alot of my tech ideas and advice about stuff i don't know from the wonderfull people at Jeepspeed.com they take cherokees and turn them from mild wheelers, into desert racing, rock climb capebale super machines. Its crazy seeing a cherokee as an actual race car that is still street legal. I really suggest you guys take a look at this site,
Jeep Speed.
They have a pretty good tech forum and some great links to some stores. Also they all pretty much know what there talking about, if you get advice from then, it's probobly true cause theyve got their crap in line, which is east to see just by looking at their Jeeps. So take a gander over there.

I checked out Jeep speed, reminds me of home, I grew up outside of Barstow. I made a post about limit straps, awhile back. Said most of the damage done to the suspension pieces was over articulation. The differentials getting to far from the body or to far off the center line. The Jeep speed crowd requires, limit straps on all there race participants. Nice to know I wasn´t talking through my exhaust pipe.
WWW.MadXJ.com has a homemade adjustable MAP sensor and many other homemade projects.
That said, I`m gonna advise against, hot rodding a 4.0 much. Most people start the hunt for horses from the top down, on a motor. Most of the people, that have been doing it for awhile, start from the bottom up. The bottom of the 4.0 though paterened after some Dodge motors and designed to function with a lot of wear, are still pretty much engineered, for a lot fewer horses than the produce now. Jacking up the horses is only going to shorten the life of the motor.
There are many homegrown and aftermarket goodies to get a few more horses out of the 4.0. Most of the mods I make are for reliability not horses.
I´m thinking of getting an 88 XJ, one of the first mods. I´m gonna do (even before tires and lift) is a double diaphram brake booster, to get that mother stopped. A lot of races are won by outbraking an opponent (something to think about). Then I´m probably gonna buy a sandwhich type (by the oil filter) motor oil bypass and install a thermoastatically controlled engine oil cooler. Then maybe a transmission oil cooler. Gonna take a close look at the suspension and then maybe add some side guards and skid plates[addsig]

nice nice, ask the jeepspeed tech forum guys what the best year of cherokee is to buy, theyll give you all the odds and ends of each im sure. no doubt all the mods will shorten engine life, i actually just had mine rebuild.[addsig]
