bumper question..

i tried searching to see what the stock bumper on a 98 wrangler is rated for, im buying a winch thats rated for 8,000lb i was just curious what would give first if i tried pulling something to heavy out

If you get the winch mount plate made specificly for the tj you'll be fine. It bolts to the frame above the bumper. They can we found as cheap as 50 bucks. Mine is either a superwinch or a rugged ridge. I can't remember..

ok thanks i saw the cheapest one i can get is like 60 so its not to bad i guess

I've got a 10,000 lb winch bolted on my 06 and it's yanked me out of a few sticky situations just fine.
