Chevy tie rod w/heim joints

I have seen several vehicles with a shortened chevy tierod running heim joints instead of ball joints at the ends, read somewhere that they run about $100...would like to have one as I boogered up my tie rod on a stump lat night

I have not heard this, might be better ot get some DOM tubing, measure and cut to length, either tread or weld in a treaded end and put the Heim joints in that, should be a lot stronger. also those are not ball joints that are replaced but rather tie rod ends.
