Dana 30 axle?

I have a '78 CJ-7 with a dana 30/disk brake's. I also have '76(maybe) with drum brakes. The ring and pinion is stripped on the 78 and I was wanting to in the 76. I know the spindle's are different and while looking in a parts catalog it seem's that the inner seals and bearings are different also. Is this correct? If I swap the front-end's should I change out the steering knuckles and spindle's and axles?
