your jeep is an 87, right? you will probably have a very hard time finding a vin decoder that works because jeep changed hands so much and mopar didn't start keeping track till the tj era.
and, couple that with yours being not a us spec, i bet you cannot find anything on it.
i tried a few and they all said invalid vin. i had similar issues on my 87 wrangler but at least it would say 87 jeep wrangler, just nothing else

I found one when I bought the Jeep months ago that decoded the VIN on the dash I do not remember much of it. What I am trying to find out is the color of the Jeep I can find the available colors for that year online but not the code that tells me the one I have and there are two shades of blue that are close to my Jeep I was told that tag on the firewall shows the color code but I do not know which one it is?
In trying to decode the firewall tag I found one site that said my Jeep originally came with a 360 V8... LOL
What are you needing to paint? If you are wanting to repaint the entire jeep either blue should be ok. Repainting a section may or may not work as paints can fade over time. If you can get an aerosol can of each color and paint a piece of metal that should help you determine which is the right color.
