I need to pad the ol' resume with something or I'll never get a job with my GPA...

Im interested in going into the oil buisness / offshore ... I've applied at Chevron, EXXON, Citgo.... no word yet...

Can any of you guys send me some links to some offshore companies that I can send my resume to?

Im poor , please HELP! ( I need the cash to replace the old 4-banger with a HEMI),

THANKYOU

Networking....

i'm no help, but out of curiosity, where do you go to school? i go to northeastern university in boston which is known for their co-op program, its just weird to hear someone else say co-op instead of internship. usually when i say co-op, people are like wtf? experience is money, these days, everyone has a college degree for the jobs you apply for, experience in the field speaks volumes, good luck!

NOT at the North Carolina D.O.T., but that's a whole different rant. (Sorry 'bout that)

But on topic.....nkdskls1, I hope you realize that working offshore requires some "non-traditional" hours (usually 2 wks. on - 1 wk. off or some variant) and extensive travel (usually paid for by the company). The money's good, but it's a rough life if you want a family. I worked for major civil contractors for most of my career, and 'tho we worked "normal" hours, they usually totaled 60-70/wk. And we moved around alot. But we did use co-ops extensively. Here's just a few links to look at:

http://www.opeinc.com/

http://www.horizonoffshore.com/

http://www.gldd.com/AreaOfActivity.html

http://www.orionmarinegroup.com/employment.html

This is also a valuable link when shopping for contractors:

http://www.thebluebook.com/

You search by geographic area and field of expertise. Every major contractor in the country is listed in this book (website). Good luck in your search!!!

BTW, you say you're from LA.............is that Los Angeles, Louisianna,.........................or Lower Alabama??

Ive been a member here or about three years and Ive been away. I tried to log on and apparently Ive been kicked out of the system so all of my info is reset.

I am from Louisiana , the dirty. I go to school at La Tech ( mostly known for engineering ).

Im wanting those hours because my wife seems to treat me better when I am only home on the weekends, like now i go to school 2 hrs away. We are like newly weds every friday and saturday.

I chose the minor in Geology because they no longer have petroleum engineering.

Ill check those links out soon, today I get to meet some big whig from Dresser, if you guys have ever heard of them. He is in my father-in-law's hunting club.

Check out a new picture of the ol' rig on the TJ forum ..look for HARMONIC BALANCER

Funny, usually when I say Co-Op, I'm talking about the local grain elevator!
