I have two Nissan 300 ZX's for sale for $1500 or trade. I told my boss at work about them and he is interested in trading his mid-80's Old's Cutlas Supreme with a v-8 and 3-speed auto transmission. I crrently have a CJ-7 that I drive daily, I also have another frame and body. I was thinking about trading car's and putting the engine and transmission in the other Jeep. I know I would have to get a x-case(I have a couple dana-20's). Being that it is a g.m. product could I get the factory 4x4 adaptor and a np 205 froma junkyard or would I have to get one from Advance Adapters? Also, The Old's stuff is pretty much the same as Chevy stuff, right? I think it's a 305 v-8 with a turbo 350 transmission.

It would be more interesting to see you swap one of those 300ZX engines and use a transmission/t case out of a Hardbody or Pathfinder. But that's not what you asked.
It would have a Buick/Olds/Pontiac (BOP) pattern on the Engine and Transmisson which is different from a Chevrolet. If you use the Olds engine and transmission, this is not an issue. So the question becomes; can you mount a transfer case to the 2wd Olds Th350? The answer is yes. Read all about it here:
