Putting On Flares?

Howdy everyone,



I'm just getting into everything; so I'm still in the dark about a lot of things (I hope to learn though!). I am thinking of putting on 31" BFGoodrich All-Terrains on my TJ. My question is, will I have to put on new flares in order to pass inspection? If anyone has any answers, thank you very much!

You should be fine... 31X10.50s are only an inch wider than the 30s that came stock on a lot of TJs.

Depending on where you live the laws are different as to how much tire you can have sticking out the sides. Where I live it is 1 1/2 inches. I live 20 feet from the Canadian/American border and laws are different there. Check into your bylaws, you might be safe with just about anything where you live.[addsig]

What wheels do you have now? I doubt you'd need new flares for an inch difference, plus remember, they're only gonna stick out 1/2" further on each side.[addsig]
