Rubbing swaybar links??

Ok after i got her to run with your help and was able to drive it, something else came up. The jeep has 32x11.50R1.15 LT Pro-Comp tires on front and back. Is it common for the front to rub on sway bar links when turning sharp? If so will spacers help? 1993 YJ, 4.0 Auto, Stock with 3'' body lift. Also hard on the old butttt but cool...noticed pro comp 9000 shocks on it, would it help alittle to install stock shocks or if some one knows of better ones. .

I know TJ's have that problem and is easily fixed with spacers or rims with more back spacing.

I think that most people around here would frown on a 3" body lift - it tends to put alot of stress on the body bolts, meaning that if you slammed on the brakes, or got hit, the bolts could sheer off. Personally, I think that a 1 - 1.5" body lift along with some longer shackles is a better way to go.

As to your question, XT Master is right - new rims, or spacers will fix you right up.

As to your shocks question - I had Pro Comps on my CJ (10 years ago) and they rode hard on the street, but this is just my opinion from a long time ago - your mileage may vary. Since your suspension is still at stock height (you have a body lift, not suspension) you could just put some stock shocks on. They should be pretty cheap at your local auto parts store. You may also want to think about greasing your leaf springs some. If you haven't driven this jeep much, the springs may be rusty and less likely to compress.

I suggest driving it a little while, and deciding where you want to go with your lift. If you end up putting new leaf springs on then any money you spend on shocks now would be wasted. Chances are that a new lift kit would ride alot nicer than your 16 year old stock springs.

Thanks allot guys" This is my new plan...Tell me what you think. 3" body lift out 1''in. 4" Rustys lift I saw on powerblock on TV Sunday. The price is right with shocks $500..... They say nothing about a SYE and CV, do i need those for a 4" lift or should i go with a 3''lift. If im going to spend the money i want to do it once with no regrets. 4''or 3''or less lifts, that is the guestion ha ha.
