I'm getting a Warrior Products Tailgate Cover for my 99 wrangler and they recommend pop riveting it to the tail gate, i would rather use 3M automotive 2 way tape. What is everyone opnion on this?

Do you mean this one:

Personally, I think the tape would be fine, and easier than drilling holes in your tailgate.

The install instructions however go through pains to tell you to use rivets:
IMPORTANT: Warrior only recommends one method of installation. This method includes drilling holes and pop-riveting the
tailgate cover into place, and will be the method covered in these instructions. Actual mounting hardware & method are at the
discretion of the installer. Any gasket or sealants used are also at the same discretion. All covers are designed to overlay the
existing factory tailgate with factory hinges and latches.

I say try the tape and see how it turns out. You can always go back and use rivets later.

Yes that is the one. I was thinking they probable use the rivets for a disclaimer in case u use 2 way tape and it falles off they are not responsable for a return.
