Torque

RE: Do you read or like JP Magazine?

Tight but not too tight. 8)

Seriously, I think its, eighty pounds. But I dont have my book on me at this time. If you go too tight it will make it ride real stiff, I just make em snug and throw a little lock tite on em..

I think the manual does say something like 80 pounds, but mine are prob. more around 25 pounds with locktite on them...so far so good.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: off road today

spring eye to shackle bolt 95 lbs.
spring eye to frame bracket bolt 105lbs.

Thanks. My ride is pretty damn bouncy(even for Superstiff), and I've never checked to see if they were over tightened.

at 80, 95, 105 lbs the shackle bolts will be too tight to flex properly. Your best best it to use a locking nut and do not overtighten them. I don't use a torque wrench on those, just tighten them by feel. A lock nut will keep them on securely.

Jump on the bumper, if they don't move they're too tight.

Yeah, if they should move when I jump on the bumper then they're way to tight. I've wondered why I never got good flex. Even superstiff springs flex a little right?
