Anybody know what diameter a 225/75/15 tire equates to?

I have 205's on my Jeep trailer and want to step up to 225's to get the trailer tires in Load Range D. I have to make sure they will fit first.

I think I see how this works:
You use 225mm/25.4= 8.85" wide
8.85*.75= 6.64" sidewall height
6.64*2+15 rim = 28.29" overall height
Thanks.

Nice reference table.
I've had two blowouts with Carlisle trailer tires while towing the Jeep. The second nearly got me killed by a Wal-Mart truck.
I'm going to switch over to Goodyear Marathon trailer tires in a load range D and see if that helps. They better, it's twice the price of the Carlisle.
I had regular passenger car tires on it before which are rated for less weight and never had any problems. Then I switch to heavier trailer tires and have had nothing but problems. The most painful part is finding someone who can tell you exactly what you need for a trailer.

The tire sizes are not necessarily true, the mathematical solution is the literal translation of the tire size, however, most tire companies wag the measurement. You're best bet is to find the brand you want and then check with them for the actual measurements or www.tirerack.com has the actual measurements of most popular tires. As you'll see they can vary half an inch or more depending on brands.

Yeah, sometimes they swag alot. I am just trying to make sure that I can put that size tire on the trailer without them rubbing together. There are no fenders, so I just have to worry about them rubbing each other or the frame rail. It should be good to go.

The ST225/75R15 Marathon is avail. in C or D load range.
2,150lbs @50psi for the C
2,540lbs @ 65psi for the D
