258 miss?

I have a 82 cj7, stock 258, hei, new plugs and wires. It has a miss at idle, but seems to disappear when above idle. caused by the carter carb? or something else? Thanks, Jared

With your hei, you should double check the grounding strap that is connected to the coil on the inside. It will make a conection and run, but it is really sensitive to ground. MAke sure the conevtions are clean and tight. I had the same problem

When did the miss pop up? Did it just happen one day, or was it once you switched over to the HEI? Could you have a vacuum leak somewhere?

Vacuum leak would be more probable, because it just popped up outta nowhere.
