98 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 automatic

I have a 98 grand Cherokee 4.0 automatic.. it ran and drove fine until the fuel pump went out I put a brand new fuel pump in it the battery died charged it and now it will start run for a second shut off.. I lost the original keys long time ago so I've been using a screwdriver to start which never bothered anything because I've been driving it like that. I just can't figure out why it won't stay running now.. nothing on the dash is working either way just the abs light come on.

i wonder if you have some type of factory alarm that needs to be reset now that the battery was disconnected? or maybe the ignition switch finally wore out enough that it won't stay in run properly?
