ever notice that most groups prefer the lower channels? I didn't think the 23 channel CBs were still around...

I kinda think that's a generational thing. The older generation started using the lower 23, and their kids just followed along, staying in the same channel range. Years ago, when I used to use the CB quite a bit, our "gang" used to run channel 2 and 32. When some kid would find us chatting on channel 2, we'd just say "I'm going upstairs" and we'd meet on channel 32. At that time, most the obnoxious kids didn't have the newer 40 channel units, probably because they got their dad's old unit when he upgraded. Just a theory, though. Funny thing is, several storm chasers I know use channel 4, and a couple months ago, while I was in Nebraska with a chase team, we never heard another soul all week on channel 4.

I'll check with the 4x4 club I just joined and find out what channel they use.

We all ways just picked a channel to use on trail day what ever we agreed on at the time was it. For the most =part 19 is what I run being an ol trucker it is just second nature to go there for me. Plus I can keep up with road conditions speed traps and what cars have the best looking seat covers in them! love them seat covers. tug

Well some of the newer gen. like Frs Radios. If Iam on a base or parked for a long time i try 40.
Mobile 19 unless Iam in a group.
