BAD TINT <grrr>

Howdy peeps.
I just picked up a used replacement tailgate window for my hard top and it has a REALLY BAD tint job (the cheap film kind) which has discolored and scratched off in parts.
I'm thinking that some kind of solvent could probably disolve and remove this crappy tint real easy. Any suggestions short of a Maltov Cocktail?

Damn this is getting expensive!! Or is it?

Try to peel the film off in one piece, I use a rag with gassoline and a razorblade, and the glue will come right off.

Probably have to use a razorblade to remove the film, then work the glue with some gooBgone or other adhesive remover available everywhere, and moan and grunt and cuss a lot. It's tough.

Just wet it down with like alcohol or some solvent and use a glass scraper. I had a really bad tint job on my windows and took it all off in one piece. Just be PATIENT.

Hello chinard,

I have removed tint film using a razor blade scraper and "Goof-Off."

Roll back the film edges with the scraper, then pull the film off in strips.

The "Goof-Off" will make short work of the residual adhesive on the window. "Goof-Off" is available in the paint section of hardware stores...great stuff, all sorts of household uses and inexpensive too.

I had this problem on one of my cars. Heres what I did
-rip the tint off
-use a razor in a handle designed to take the adhesive film off
-goo-b-gone , try to avoid using gasoline, don't want that on your interior should you spill it
-Windex of 409 stuff to clean up
Done
