Get to know fellow Jeepers

im a 19 year old student and i just bought my first jeep a few months ago, last week i picked up another yj for parts because mine needs a little work, i live in northern ontario, Canada. winter driving really takes its toll
on vehicles up here bacuse of all the salt that they put on the roads. i just finished tearing the body off of my 87 because the 88 that i just bought's frame is in much better shape. While the body is off i would like to do some body work to it. the only problem is, i have no clue what im doing when it comes to that. another problem i have is i dont have a lot of money to be throwing around because i have a lot of bills to pay. i was just wondering if you guys could give me some tips to help me make my jeep look good without spending a lot of cash

the problem areas are my front fenders, which from what i see is a common thing on jeeps, and where the running boards were (i took them off and fabricated my own)

RE: More power!

Fenders? cut 'em flat. Other than that, you can buy a $20 body hammer and dolly kit at harbor freight like I did and hammer everything out. Bondo is OK in moderation.

yeah, cut them off, and get the whole thing painted with bed liner paint. Buddy did it to his land cruiser and it was well worth the money!

RE: TJ Transmission Problem -> Bad Warranty Service

flatfender the front... as for the rest... get rid of the rust and thanks to the relatively "flat" design of most areas you can always cover the bad areas w/diamond plate or the like (scraps are cheap and pretty available...) I cut my fenders months ago and love the look and the added clearance... get creative... after all... ITS A JEEP!!! ;O)
