ok, ive been doin a little seaching and have found an 86 dana 44 rear, and a waggy front 44, dont know much bout them yet, they are at a jeep salvage yard, and the guy told me on the phone 950 for both, any comments, advice, are they worth 950 if they are in good condition

I would wanna know if the ratios match or not... a lot of people seem to think that an AMC20 with 1-piece shafts is just as strong as a 44... on those wagoneers one of the diffs is offset I think... I can't remember if its the front or the rear.

the 20 is reported to be stronger w/ 1pc shafts and welded axle tubes.... i dunno... if i will buy them or not.... [addsig]

sounds like a lot to me.. considering both may need a rebuild. If you can rebuild them yourself it may be worth it, otherwise i would be hesitant.[addsig]
