Electronic feedback on carb

84 CJ7. Original Carter on engine, with electronic feedback valve. If I replace carb, do I have to get one with the valve? If I do a nutter bypass, is it even used anymore?

depends on where you live, what kind of carb you have to get. does your state allow other carbs and still pass inspection? do you have a visual or a computer inspection of the exhaust?

if you can use any carb, you do not have to get one with the electronic controls. you can do the nutter and it will run better then without it being done since the computer will not be trying to adjust for the electronic carb anymore, if you get a different carb.

It's over 25 years old, I don't have to do any emissions check.
Would a new carb need me to hook up throttle solenoid that is currently on the Carter carb?
