I have a friend with a 1995 Cherokee (not a Grand) 4.0L, automatic, 2WD, and is having a prob with his OD. In the morning when he first drives it when cold, it will shift into OD but almost immediately jump out of OD (comes out hard) and will no longer go back into OD. He says it will do this almost every time and only once, when it's cold, then no longer do it again until it sits awhile and it's cold again, usually overnight. Again, once it shifts into and out of OD immediately, it will not do it again or go back into OD.
Just wondering if anyone can give any suggestions or advice as to what to look at or what may cause this? I know very little about the Jeep transmissions so thought someone on here might know or have had this problem. Thanks for any help!
