How does this mirror mount?

I sold a pair of these side mirrors on ebay (I had them laying around, never used). The guy is telling me that they aren't YJ side mirrors, and there is no way to mount them without drilling the Jeep.

Do these mount to the windshield or doors?

Give that person the Expert knowledgeable Support Staff # and tell them to have a nice day! Shame on them for not having knowledge of the product they were buying in the first place. Sounds to me they have buyers remorse.

You did your part you delivered and supplied the product they purchased it is not your just to install or advise. You did not sell defective merchandise do not feel bad.

I'll be honest, the pattern seems too short for the doors, and the windshield has 2 bolts only IIRC (well, two on the front, two on the side). but if I had to guess, I would say they are door mounted... The door is the one with the pattern more similar to that.

That's a good point. I'll probably get some negative feedback from the guy. My only worry is that I've sold something as a YJ mirror that won't really work.

I think the guy may be right though, that the bolt pattern doesn't look right. I'd expect it to mount on the windshield from the look of it, but I don't think the bolts look right.

Without the dimensions or teh two side by side it's hard to tell. BUUUUt. Would the mirror holes line up with the door front mirror bolt and the two front hinge bolts in the image you have above?

drill bits and nut-serts nuff said. if it dont fit than make it fit. stock is best.

I think jeepgurl6969 is right,but it's nice to be nice & it might save you some negative feedback. Those look like the mirrors from the first gen YJs."86-"88 or so.I believe they mount on the door hinges....the holes should line up.

just drill and tap the three holes in the winchshield hinge, use some small machine screws to hold it on. That does not appear to be a factory jeep mirror at all, if you want, I know the family that owns Crown, I can ask if you want.

Looks like a person may be able to take the two arms off the bracket and attach the arms to the hinge hole where the door pin slides in.

The 4wd Hardware site sure says it fits a YJ. Wonder what the bolt pattern is for the small mirrors that attach to full hard doors, above the hinges.
