is it hard to change this seal?

when i was changing oil today, i notcied that my front rear was wet from oil. i looks like it is leaking from the seal where the u-joint is. are these hard to replace?

front rear? do you mean the pumpkin?... if that is the case, the seal is not hard to change.. undo the driveshaft, undo the nut on the yoke, and there you are, right there
 
How about that rear main seal? Is that a one-day switch-a-roo or will I need to drop the transmission to get to that one? In the chiltons it seems that it is possible to do it while just droping the oil pan and that plate thats up in there? Let me know! ('cause mine looks a tiny bit wet...ok somewhat dripping) thanks. jered
 
Not sure about the newer Jeep motors, but the older ones had 2 piece rear main seals. Drop the pan, take off the rear main bearing cap and use a pick to dig out the upper seal. Lubricate the new one and push it up through there. Put the lower half on the bearing cap and use a dab of RTV where they meet. Put tit back on and torque the bearing cap bolts back to spec. Put a new gasket back on the oil pan, fill with oil and hammer down.
