JEEP Soft Top

This weekend I ripped my soft top. I have a 2004 rubicon and just got it last november. There are two 3 inch rips and was wondering what the best way to fix this would be.

1.Do they cover this in warranty?
2.Does the dealership sell just the soft top fabric and not all the hardware?
3.Should I go with aftermarket top?
4.Any other suggestions?

I am looking to either fix or replace this in the easiest way possible with the lowest cost. Any info would be appreciated.

Are you SURE it's covered under warranty? Most warranties are against "factory defects or failure in factory materials." They may not cover it under warranty, but I'd at least take it in to give it a try.

If they don't cover it, get a Bestop replacement top. You can buy just the canvas from Quadratec.com or 4wd.com or wherever you like for less than $500. http://www.quadratec.com/cgi-bin/sg...QA=1&UREQB=2&UREQC=3&UREQD=4&FNM=00&x=59&y=36

The years say 97-02, but I don't believe they changed the top for the '03 & '04 model years. I would prolly call just in case, if you have to go this route.

How'd you tear it anyways?

A friend of mine took his soft top into a shop that repairs rubber boats such as zodiacs. They put a small patch on the inside of the top and sewed it on around the patch. From the outside you can barely notice it's there.
