lift questions

i'm looking to raise up my jeep 2" so i can clear my 31/10.5/r15's a little easier. i have been told that spacers are terrible offroading and that i should just spend the extra couple bucks and buy new shocks/coil overs. i have been planning on spending maybe $500-$600 total, and if that could come with sway bar disconnects, that'd be great.

i'm looking for:

$2" coil over springs
$new shocks
+$sway bar disconnects

close to $600

any help is appreciated, thanks

Spacers are not terrible offroad and are a good affordable option to clear a little larger tires. I wouldn't let somebody talk you out of them.

I would suggest the RE budget kit (2" spacer kit w/ shocks). It works very well. I've run blues at both Paragon and Rausch Creek with no problems. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the performance of the kit. By the way, it'll only run you $230-250.

spacers work fine. i used 2 inch ones and cleared 32's with no rub ( after tossing the cheap plastic fender caps)

On my TJ, I clear 32's fine with the plastic fender caps, but they rub on the swaybar a little at full lock. Aftermarket wheels with a bit more backspacing or another inch of lift will cure this.

$600 is too expensive for replacing those. When I had replaced my jeep parts, particular those shocks with that of sway bar disconnect, it only cost me almost 400bucks. And the performance of my car paid off my expenses. I suggest you try it online too.

I got 4 poly spacers for under $100.00 and cleared 32s with my tj. I didn't ever get a chance to stuff the tires but never rubbed em at all. I extended the stock shocks and made the didcos ..you could save a ton of money to use on other mods ! just google the parts you want and surf surf surf. somebody will always have what you need somewhere and on sale or free shipping too !good luck !
