In the wanted section of this forum, "monsterrd" says seats out of a Ford Mustang will fit into '76 and up Jeeps. Has anyone tried this? Will this fit on jeep seat stands?

:-?

I saw the same article, bought a set and put them in, fit my 89 yj perfectly. The article said about a half hour to install, took me about 1 and 1/2 hours by the time I took the old seats out and re-installed the new ones.

The seats look basically the same, height wize, you use your own risers and sliders, maybe about one inch higher if that. Also if you go to that website that joey posted he has pictures of the whole process, info, and pics of the finished product. I did find out that they are slightly wider, made my center console a bit tighter. I would send some pics of mine, but haven't figured out how to do it yet. :-D  :-x :-D

I paid 79.00 plus tax, some guys wanted upward of 200.00 mine were from an 87. The later the year the more they go up, also stay away from mustang gt's very high dollar. There were 3 small tears in mine, but I put seat covers on them anyways, good luck hunting. I went to about 7 places before I found some that were reasonable.

Re: 1054982

I have a 1976 CJ-5 and I needed to replace the seats. After reading this forum and a bunch of others, I found the apparently various years of Mustang seats will work. So, I took a shot at it and went to a local salvage yard and found a pair of 2004 Mustang GT seats, black leather for $175. Took them home and with very little fabrication here and there, the worked just fine. The look great and fit very well, not to mention comfortable. Just wanted to put this info out there for anyone who was trying to do the same thing.
