Do you plan to travel on for the 4th of July

Tomorrow (Sat) is our town's annual 4th celebration. Parade, ping-pong ball drop for the kids, pedal-tractor pulls for the kids, mini-rod pulls for the adults, car show, crappy food cooked by my neighbor across the alley for way too much money, cow patty bingo, a dance in the evening, an auction of donated items, fireworks, and a few different types of musical entertainment. I plan to go down to watch the parade and then retreat back to the cool comfort of my home to lounge around the rest of the day. Sunday my oldest brother's family is coming in, and also my sister and one or two of her kids. They'll all be staying till late on the 4th. Monday Sunshine and I are going to a get-together at one of my co-workers' house for BBQ, swimming, a chance to hang out away from work, more swimming, and fireworks. Tuesday night, Sunshine and I will put on our annual fireworks show for the nieces and nephews (and Sparky) here at our place. We typically spend between $500 and $750 on fireworks and put on a pretty darn good show.

Cow patty bingo??? Please explain....preferably in English and not redneck. Hahahaha!

this is going to be a tough weekend for the Utah family...
Saturday is going to be spent under the jeep replacing the long arm bushings
Sunday I am doing the Murdock basin run that takes us into Wyoming for the annual stocking up for 4th of July party supplies, fire works included, then a return trip on the trail to avoid the UHP road blocks for firework and booze runners.
Monday I have off but the wife is forcing me to clean the carpets...but dear!!!!!
Tuesday we are heading up to mineral basin for some heavy rock crawling and Brat cooking. then we enjoy the fireworks all around the valley while we sit 11,000 feet up with a grand view!

Yeah... poor you!

Don't mind me. I'm just sour cause I am gonna be home alone with Crackers (my dog) and a pile of books. It'll all be worth it.

I sure miss wheeling.

Well Mingez ole buddy you know where my PM box is...all it would take is you to shoot an e-mail over and a 6 hour drive into the fabled land of heathenism to visit Utah's place. We have a spare bedroom with a queen size pillow top bed, high speed internet access and plenty of rocks to tempt you. oh and we only serve 6.0 beer.

Yeah I wish!!! I'm not staying home by choice. I'm studying my arse off!!!

But I probably will take you up on that sometime!!! I've been dying to get out there!!

I thought that would generate some curiosity....Cow Patty Bingo is one of those hickville "sit-n-wait" games. They fence off an area about 50x50 feet, mark it out in 1 foot numbered squares. Then, they sell raffle tickets with corresponding numbers on them for $5 apiece. Once all the tickets are sold, then they bring in the cow (usually one of the McCurry Brothers Grand Champion Angus Steers) and you sit and wait for it to....ummm...well, relieve itself. Whatever numbered square the plop hits is the winner. The prize is $1000. I told ya we were a hick town with cheap entertainment!!! Actually, it generates a lot of excitement, and usually works pretty well, except for a few years ago when the cow had the hershey squirts and nailed about 20 squares in one shot!

It's a great way to raise money, and all the proceeds go to charity.
