RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Check out this Wrangler on Ebay

Hey, I have read all the threads about CB placement and such. I was wondering where the best place is to get key off or an always hot line. I will probably be mounting on the drivers side
Thanks

I thought this was a microsoft office thread sorry.

i tapped my cb into my radio power and ground wiresm that way it comes on and off with my jeep. you can always splice in the power wire with an always hot wire such as the cigarette lighter if you want it to be on unless you turn off the radio.

judge- i thought it was a microsoft question too... haha

With stuff like that where there's an on/off switch on the unit, I usually go through the Cigarrette lighter. It's really easy to get access to and I hardly ever use the cig. lighter for anything else anyways.

Besides that, anything like the radio that comes on when the vehicle is "on" will work great...or anything that is always hot, no matter if the vehicle is on or off.

Just avoid anything like the headlights, heater, interior lights, ect that only comes on when you turn them on....which would be a real pain.

thanks for the help. man, wouldn't that suck to have to turn on your heater to get your CB to work. Where I live in Central Cali my handle would be hot foot or melting man or salvidor dali jeep

RE: carb help, hei, vacuum advance

In my TJ there are both switched and unswitch power leads tucked up above the fusebox behind the glove box. Labeled with the max amp ratings, too. Very convenient. All you have to do is add the fuse in the fusebox.

I'll have to check that out on mine. That's pretty cool.

I need to rewire the extra switches for the hydraulics anyway, and I still need to hook up the second set of neons too.

If you're looking for a constant hot lead for the cb, I was told by a communications shop that the best thing to do is wire it directly off the battery. They told me to make one loop around the battery with the power lead so the battery will act as a noise suppressor.
