Rubicon / H2

My boss thinks that I am crazy for buying a Rubicon. He said that If i wanted a real 4x4 I should have gotten a Hummer. So today when I went to work Someone came in with a wrecked H2. Was hit in the right front and had a damaged hood, brush guard, and a broken tierod. After doing an estimate on the damage he came out and showed it to me. I laughed. With a bill of over 5,000 beans I said "who's crazy now?". If I had to repair the same damage to my Rubi it would be less than half that. I am gonna take a pic of my Rubi parked on top of the H2's hood and yse it for a screen saver. What do you think?

I just love how people think they are so cool. How can you think that it is only an overgrown tahoe. I am going to Moab in a few weeks One of the guys has an H1. I am hoping I will get a laugh or too from it.

you may not get much of a laugh from an H1 dewd. Now the H2 fun to watch break

Funniest Thing On E-Bay In A While!

H1s are not made for rocks. They are too wide and too long. If you have ever seen an H1 try to fit between 1 big bolders and the driver remember the $100,000+ price tag it gets pretty funny in a hurry.

I don't understand why everyone is always comparing the Hummers to their Jeeps. Why? They are not similar vehicles and will not do the same tasks. A Hummer is designed to either carry ammo and pull a trailer or to show off the fact that you HAD a fat enough wallet to buy one. They aren't in the same league.
The H2's are basically an overgrown soccer mom mobile with 3/4 ton truck parts. I have no fault with that and I would have one if the funds were available. It would work great towing my trailer and Jeep to the trails. They are not trail machines and couldn't hang with a Jeep if they were.
On the other hand, a Jeep is not made to haul loads of random crap in, pull a trailer, mount a rocket launcher on, or impress the socialites at the local country club.
So what gives, you like your Jeep and they like spending too much on poser mobiles?

Now, JP just started sending me the "Top Truck Challenge" Videos. they had one rig called the "Bummer" It was an H1 body kit on a K5 Frame with Solid Axles. THAT monster rocked.

New Jeeper On The Way

some people, usually those who know nothing about offroading, see the H2, and compare it to the humvee, and they think that it is just a kickass offroad monster... in NO way is it even close to the same vehicle... and those people should be educated

more H2 smack talk, just what we need.....

I dont mean to piss you off or anything but......

What would you expect coming from a site called jeepz.com?

The H1 is a true 4wd machine, very rugged and capable. Its just a little on the heavy/large side. The H2 is just an oversized wagon with a gas guzzler motor.Oh wait it has 4wd too.

Really can anyone rip on the H2 enough? Its gained world wide recognition as the largest posermobile in history. It has no class, fits in the same category as gold teeth, sure they may be expensive, but they just make people laugh at you when you're not looking.

If you would have asked me a few years ago I would have told you an H1 was my dream vehicle. Then I saw a Top truck challenge video. (I think from 97 or 98) The hummer just was not able to do the stuff a build jeep could do, It kept getting high centered. It has a purpus like Red said. The H2 is just making crap and putting a famous name on it. The fad will die and so will Hummer. The military is already looking at replacing them with fulsized trucks, and there are only so many people that will drop $50-100 grand into something.

Never Piss me off ( You can try If you like )

Just think "our" time could be better spent. I go to Hummer site's and almost never see them talk about jeeps.

And before someone says "because jeeps are far superior "
Let me extend a Friendy Challenge. Anyone with a "Stock" jeep. No Lift (no shackels) one locker, biggest tires you can fit. Wants to Challenge me to several trails, with a small wager. At the only place with every type of trails. ( Paragon go figure).

White, do you have a hummer? Just wondering because the last post made it sound kind of like you do.

People keep saying that Jeeps are better because when their "built" they can do more. That doesn't make them any better at all. If you took an H1, and proportionally did all of the same things that you do to that "built" Jeep, the Hummer is going to drive right over the top of the Jeep. The thing is, most people don't modify their H1's to that extreeme, and to the extent that Jeep owners do (mostly due to cost)
