i need a fix............the female part of my seatbelt in my CJ7 doesnt want to work properly.........wont hold the male part..........was wondering if it needs sprayed with something cause sometimes they hold and other times it wont...........any help.............dont want to replace if i dont have to...

Thanks FiC

I would spray it with some lubricant. Then snap it in and out a bunch of times. If it holds then yank on it really hard to see if it will hold. It probably has a bunch of gunk in it from all those years of dusty trails.

Does it act like it is just sticking open? I would just try spraying a little silicone down in there or something like that.

Test it REALLY well before you trust it. The load that your body puts on that little part during an accident requires that it be in perfect condition. If you doubt the integrity of your safety equipment......replace it immediately.

I have to replace my driver side reciever.... until then... no passengers up front while i steal the passenger side reciever
