stock mpg

the fuel tank should be either 15 or 20 gallons. the only way i know how to tell is by running till almost empty then filling up and see if it holds 15 or 20. im sure someone else on here knows a better way to tell though.

I believe most have 20 gallon tank but they have the filler tube down into the tank to make them a 15 gallon. There is other posts on here to show you how to modify the tank to make it a 20 gallon tank.

I got these specs off of another site.

I've got a '93 and I get average in town 24 mpg.. even better if I keep my foot out of it.. or no headwinds for 2 weeks..

damn i wish i got 24! thats awesome i get more like 13 or 14.

'87-'90 fuel tank is 15gal with the 2.5L engine. In '91 and through '95 they used a plastic 15gal tank that can be easily converted to 20gal by trimming the fill tube that extends down into the tank to limit capacity to 15gal.
