After going wheeling for the first time and scraping over every rock i went over, I now want to do a suspension lift. I've looked at a couple and have found the Rough country, Skyjacker, and Trailmaster lifts. I want somethin between 2.5-3.5". I was just wondering who all runs these lifts and how they like them?? thanx

Rough Country is okay, and the price is nice. I don't like Trailmaster lifts, at least not for leafsprings. I run Skyjacker on anything with leafsprings. Rubicon Express makes nice stuff too.

Just stay away from Trailmaster, Superlift, and Pro-Comp for a leafspring lift. I haven't seen one yet that produced a decent ride, and flex sucks.

I run Skyjacker now, and it is the best (leaf spring)lift I have ever have, I have the flex of coils! I had superlift in my old jeep, no good, I broke a leaf after 2 months of use and they would not exchange it for me, and very stiff ride. In my blazer I also had super lift, but no issues with that truck in the ride catagory, bt I also assumed it was cause the truck weighed so much more!

Are you going to get bigger tires? if so, what size are you shooting for?

A 2.5" kit will clear 31's well, 3.5-4" will clear 32 or 33's.

The difference between a 3.5" and a 4" is practically not noticeable, but you should know that Rough Country's kit is now a 4" kit just like R.E.

I would get a 4" lift instead of the smaller ones. The prices are not much different and you won't regret it later.

Well right now I'm running 31's and I'm not sure if i want to go bigger, if I do it's not goin to be much, maybe 33's tops. Right now I'm leaning toward the Rough Country because i can afford it and I've heard good things about it. I've heard good things about the Skyjacker too, i havent made up my mind yet.

i've got the 4" hellcreek lift - like it alot! decent flex, good price, GREAT customer service and clears my 33' no problem - i had a procomp lift on my old YJ and may as well have used bar-stock to hang the axles for all the flex and ride it had! - i'd definitely recommend Hellcreek (they use rough-country hardware w/their own springs) -- just my 2 cents...

Are we talking TJ or YJ? Makes a big difference on what to recommend.

I run a Rusty's 3.5" on my YJ and I'm really happy with it, also having experience with AAL packs and Skyjacker, and seeing many other brands firsthand. The Rusty's spring packs flex and ride really well, not to mention the tough design of the spring pack. The frame eye is a full military wrap and the shackle eye is a half military wrap, gives a lot of good support to the main leaf where they commonly bend. About $400 for the kit.

I just installed a 3.5" Rough Country on my YJ. I love it..Wasn't too bad to install, just make sure you have lots of air tools, beer and a good cutoff tool :-) ....For the money, i can't complain. $460 Shipped, with all the goodies...just make sure you use EVERYTHING...lol Good luck
