Upper doors

So my gal put Sailcloth uppers on with her new sailcloth top about a year ago. But the darn things suck away from the jeep at highway speeds leaving a huge gap between the top of the uppers and the jeep! Could the upper frames be bad?

can try bending the upper half doors in a little so it takes more pressure to pull 'em open. open the door, stick yer knee on the inside of the door and pull the top of the window.

maybe they are lighter than the old windows and resist the positive pressure from the jeep's interior?
maybe they were bent outward when installing the new skins?

Bending them inward should help, but you may find you have to re-bend them periodically.

I just put a new Sailcloth top on, with upper doors. At highway speeds they pull away a little, but not much to notice. I would say there is something wrong with the frame(s). The Sailsloth material is heavier than the original canvas so I don't think it would be because they're lighter. How does she like hers Vs. her old one? I wouldn't trade mine for anything. I love it.

I bent in the frames and that thing is sealed great now! MerkL, she likes it ok, but constantly lets me know that it is not quieter than her replace-a-top was. Supposedly the sailcloth top is supposed to be quieter, and now that I have bent the frames in I think it is...

Oh, I got the Sailcloth replace-a-top, and I know it is quieter that the canvas replace-a-top. Glad you solved the problem.
