RE: Re: RE: Re: attn: Robrt-Stephens

what about them? so they beat the yankees. we're 10 games into the season. they've got no pitching. if you tell me bruce chen is going to be that good all year, then i'll know you've lost it.

so what about them o's? fun too watch, but too bad for them that they're in the AL east.

Alright there Captain Negative, If you cant see that the Orioles have the best hitting lineup in baseball you are blind. If you haven't seen the young arms develop over the last 3-4 years you haven't been looking. We have pitching. Look closer.

Being in the AL East will be tough for every team in there. The difference is this year you can't say who will be on top when all is said and done. The Yankees are getting old are are proving to be very beatable. The Sox, well they are not any better than Baltimore.

So, you ask, what about them O's?

They Rock! That's what. Coming soon to a ballpark near you

[edit] by the way, that's 2 series in a row we beat the Yanks. The second was a 3-0 sweep :!:

Did ya notice Daniel Cabrara was throwing over 100 Mph today?

yeahhh baby.

Come on now. The O's do not have the best lineup in baseball. I dont think I would even put them in my top 10 best lineups. Roberts is currently playing rediculous ball but he probably wont keep this up through out the season. Homeboy had 12 CAREER homers coming into the season and a career .270 BA. Mora is a good hitter, Tejada is awsome (one of the best in the league), Sosa is a good power hitter but you wont see him hitting anywhere close to .300 again, Palmero is old and is only sticking around until he gets #3000. Maybe he will come through with a clutch hit here or there but thats it not a big producer anymore, Lopez aint bad, esspecially for a catcher. Gibbons is average at best, Matos isnt very good, 2003 was his only decent year and that wasnt even too good, and Bigbie well he just isnt very good.

I dont mean to bash the O's too bad and I totally understand how you can be excited they are starting off pretty hot, but they arent even close to having the talent of the Yankees or Redsox. I think you can even make an arguement that the BlueJays may have a better lineup. If the O's are within striking distance of 1st place in the AL East come the end of May then I will give some credit. But as of right now I think they are just hot and taking advantage of some teams that are struggling out of the gate.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Extra Gas tank

you got me TC, the O's are off to a marvelous start. i just dont believe they can keep it up. i do not believe they have the best hitting lineup in baseball though. i'll do you one better than judge and say top 5, possibly top 3. now, you are biased with the O's, which is completely understandable. so i am biased with the sox, which i hope is also understandable.

the sox have the best lineup in baseball. you have a leadoff guy in johnny damon who had 90 RBI from the leadoff spot last year. they have moved their number 2 hitter, who did very well in that spot, and who was ranked ahead of every other second baseman in the AL last year including alfonso at the end of the year by baseballprospectus.com who has moved to ninth in the order. so you're going to get a .270 ave, 15-20 hrs, and 70+ rbi with a very good OBP from your number 9 hitter. bill mueller is finally healthy again at +8. renteria as a drastic upgrade over any SS they had play for them last year, pokey, nomar, and even the OC. and then trot is finally healthy in right field. and then there are those two guys right in the middle of the order, manny and papi, papi who single handedly carried the sox through the first two rounds of the playoffs last year. and manny, who is en fuego right now, and when manny is on fire, even roy halliday walks him to get to papi..... hahahaha that didnt work out so well. and then there's varitek at catcher, who most managers will argue is the best catcher in the game overall, combining hitting, game calling, and defense.

but hey, you know what, thats why they play 162. i'm just glad baseball is here. good luck to you and the O's the rest of the way TC. and enjoy the season.

I am thrilled baseball is here too but if the Yanks dont start winning some games its going to be a long 162 for me.

i wouldnt worry about the yankees just yet.

hey, you might find this funny, i know you're a yanks fan, but you can still appreciate the humor, some guy calls boston sports radio yesterday and says, "hey, the yankees won 19-8 last night, we all know what happens after they win by that score, they dont win another game for the rest of the season!"

that said, obviously the guy was being sarcastic, and i think they'll win plenty more games this year.
