Will This Fit?

First, I have a YJ with TJ flares and a total of 8.5" I'm getting new tires, and I'm set on TSL's but will the 36x14.5's fit with that much lift? If not how much more do I need? Thanks for the help.

TJ stock spring height?

It should fit...but I don't know about YJ's...I have 7.75" for lift on my TJ and I run 36x14.50 TSL Radials with plenty of clearance.

check out my "READERS RIDES" section..I have flex pics in there

Without a doubt the ugliest Jeep!

That sounds reasonable. What size tire you running now?

How much of what lift types do you have?

Well, right now I just put on some 35's just some street tires, I got a deal on. Haven't really flexed those, but it looks like they'd be fine.
My lift consists of 4" superlift springs with around 1.5" aal, 2" body, and 1" shackles I put on this weekend.

Re: RE: Re: RE: Forum rules and guidelines

They should fit. If they rub a little off road you can aways just extend the bumpstops.

15x10's...definatly

It will help hold the bead a lot better than the wide 15x12's.

I have my 44x18.5x15" TSL's mounted on 15x10" wheels and would never go any wider.

Re: RE: Without a doubt the ugliest Jeep!

Yeah..I have 15x10's with my 36x14.50's.

18.50! My Gosh thats over half of my highth!........Float across the mud!

In that case, would 15x8's be better than 15x10's? I have some 15x8's, I thought I was going to have to buy new wheels though, maybe not? Thanks for the help.

I have heard of people doing that and they have had good results. I know there's a couple people over on pirate4x4.com that have done it and showed pictures, but I had no luck finding them.

But, I don't know. Maybe someone else would know more about any negative side effects.

If I were you, I'd put one of your tires on your 8" wheels and see how they look.

Depends on how much you use the jeep onroad and off, how important the 'appearance' is, and how high a risk you have of tearing up rims or blowing a bead while wheelin. Everybody's situation is different.

If you like the wide appearance to the wheels, and aren't worried about rim or tire damage offroad, then go with the 10".
If appearance isn't a primary concern, and you want something reliable offroad, use the 8" rims. The majority of jeepers around here with 12.5" have them on 8" rims. Some have learned the hard way to not use 10" rims.

The 33x12.50 on an 8" rim debate is more of a preference than anything, but now we are running 36x14.50s on 8" wide wheels? :?

MerkL--stick with the 10" wheel. Run beadlocks if you need to air down so much that you start losing beads. I run my 36x12.50s on 10" wheels down around 9-10 psi when needed, and I have no bead issues. I'm not sure if what I do is considered real wheeling to the "hardcore" though.....

RE: SPOOL LOCKER?/ 3/4-1 ton axles

If you have 8" wheels then run them. If you don't like it then you can buy some 10's. A friend of mine runs 36" swampers on 8's and loves it. He uses it on and off road with no problems.
I think you have more than enough lift to handle those tires and to be honest, I don't think the Superlift springs will flex enough to let the tire hit the fender.
Did you cut the fenders when you put the TJ flares on? Most people do and that will save you from having to run too much lift. Too much lift is a bad thing in the woods.

RE: front spring installation

Ah, rooster, you know what type wheelin we do, and you are the one who could answer it best. I think I might as well run the 8 inchers since I have them. I did cut the fenders when I put the flares on. So with the superlift springs on, do you think I might be able to take out the 1" shackle lift, and still make them fit with 7.5 inches of lift? I'm not to keen on my homeade shackles, so that's why I'm asking.
