yokes can leak?

so ive had a huge mess underneath the jeep. took it to the shop and they believe that the leak is coming from the yoke. I was under the impression that it was a seal. Do yokes leak? and would it splatter all over the jeep. Every single ounce of the jeep is covered with oil from the slip yoke back. One thing that surprised me was that the differential fluid was low. Checked it few months ago and it was fine so i'm wondering.

Yokes can leak. My xj yoke leaked but it was at the t case. I filled it with silicone and shoved it on to push the yoke on to push the silicone into the hole and it's been good since. If its diff fluid it can leak passed the nut and such. Seen it all at my shop.

I just had to replace the rear and front pinion seal on my TJ. Apparently its pretty common. Its pretty easy to do if you're mechanically inclined. Mine was leaking like yours. Its been a week and no more stains in the driveway. My HOA is a lot happier now.

he seemed to be very sure that it was coming from the yoke. We checked inside the yoke where it contained silicone and it was the most wet there, ofcourse that doesnt mean that's where it is coming but at this moment i cant be too sure. All i know is that from the transfer case back, its a hot mess of oil fluid every where. So should i start with replacing the yoke or should i try with the seals?
