Just curious if anyone has tired 33's on stock CJ height?? I was thinkin' of tryin' with just changing out to TJ flares. Waadddaayah TINK?

I have 33's on my CJ7 with a 2 inch suspension lift and a 1 inch body lift and I still rub at full flex. With that in mind I dont think that TJ flares are going to give you enough room for the 33's even without flexing.

Yes. A 33x10.50 would fit better, but I've known lots of people that have run 33x12.50 on the factory rims, with some trimming and lift shackles. You need to extend your bumpstops as far as necessary to keep the tires out of metal. Of course a suspension lift would be better, but if this is all you can do right now, I say try it out and see how you like it.

It'll be close with 33" and TJ flares, I'd install minimum of 2.5" suspension lift as well.

A friend of mine runs a 2" body lift stock springs and shackles and clears a set of 33x12.50 TSL's on the factory rims with no problem. So I would say that if you remove 2" of metal with those new flares that you can make it work.
Just remember the sawzall is your friend.

I used 1/2" shackles and 1" body lift with TJ flares. This was my 86 CJ7 it cleared 33's on stock off set rims just fine. I did trim the back of the front wheel well.

The only problem I had with it is it there it is all lifted, big tires and yet it looks mainly stock. Petty I know.
