do i need shock boots?

What do you drive? (post pics!)

ya, they're supposed to keep dust and mud out...but I've always ended up ditching them cause they get FILLED with dust and mud.
 

I don't know what advantage they are... it is easier to inspect for damage without them.
 
plus, I always end up tearing them up real good and then they just look terrible. I think it's a much cleaner look with them left off.
 
I asked my buddy who's a mechanic the exact same question when I put the lift in my YJ. He answered it as on of those "you're damnd if you do and you're damnd if you don't". It'll keep most dust and crap out for everyday street driving but off road they're just gonna fill with mud and dirt.

Heh, good way to get your point across. I agree with everyone else, I've only got a bunch of muck in mine. Yank 'em off.
